Headphones - High-end audio solution for fMRI

 

The AudioSystem allows auditory signals from the stimulus presentation PC to enter the scanner room and to be presented to the patient wearing a set of headphones. A communication console allows the operator to adjust the sounds from the PC and to speak directly to the patient through a built-in microphone.

With state-of-the-art electrostatic transducers, the headphones give a superbly detailed sound, replicating even minute details with incredible precision. Designed specifically for fMRI, the superior sound quality and increased noise attenuation provide a more precise audio stimulation to the patient. This yields a more robust BOLD response than traditional pneumatic audio systems.

Combined with the user-friendly Communication Console, NordicNeuroLab Headphones gives both research and clinical users versatile control over auditory stimulus presentation.

Communication Console

With easy accessible controls, the communication console offers one-way patient communication and full flexibility of audio settings. With its two input channels with individual volume control, it allows to connect a wide variety of audio devices through standard RCA connectors. The Communication Console also features a built-in speaker for output feedback or audio from a subject microphone (Subject microphone not supplied by NordicNeuroLab).

Earplug

With today’s restrictive space requirements inside many head coils, it can be challenging to deliver audio stimuli within the MRI environment. The EarPlug deals with this challenge without compromising audio quality. Combined with the user-friendly Communication Console, the NordicNeuroLab Earplug gives both research and clinical users versatile control over auditory stimulus presentation.
